To ensure the safety of all students and promote a focused learning environment, family members are not permitted in the room for the duration of class (other than Creative Movement Stay & Play). Parents who wish to remain on the premises during class may wait in our lobby and view class through a closed circuit visual only television. Prime Technique Dance Academy will hold an observation day each semester, and two guests per student will be permitted to watch on those days.
A student's enrollment commitment is for the entire school year (September to June). For your convenience, tuition is divided into ten equal monthly payments regardless of how many lessons are held each month. Tuition is expected every month whether or not a student attends to hold their place in class. An annual registration fee of $15 per student ($45 max per family) is due at the time of registration. The first tuition payment and annual registration fee will be automatically deducted from your account at the time of registration. All following tuition will be due by the 1st of each month from October to June.
Tuition paid after the 1st of each month will be assessed a $10 late fee. If tuition and late fees are not paid by the 15th of the month the student will forfeit their place in class. A student who has been dis-enrolled from class may re-register only if space is still available by paying the late tuition, $10 late fee and a $5 re-enrollment fee. If a new month has begun, the late tuition will not count for that month and the tuition for the new month will also be expected. If a student has already been dis-enrolled once due to non-payment by the 15th of the month, they will not be permitted to re-enroll a second time. If you pay via "1st of the Month (Auto-Pay)" it is your responsibility to make sure your payment information on file is correct prior to the 1st of each month to avoid late fees, and if your payment does not go through it is your responsibility to submit your tuition payment and late fee via Parent Portal no later than the 15th to avoid dis-enrollment.
Tuition is to be paid online via our Parent Portal by credit card or bank draft. Upon registration you will choose one of the following: "1st of the Month (Auto-Pay)" (automatic withdrawal payments will be taken out at the time of registration and on the 1st of each month via automatic withdrawal), "1st of the Month (Self-Pay)" (the initial tuition payment will be taken out at the time of registration and all following payments will be submitted by you via Parent Portal before the 1st of each month), "Biannual Payment" (automatic withdrawal payments for half of the year will be taken out at the time of registration and on January 1st) or "Entire Year" (automatic withdrawal payment will be taken out at the time of registration for the full year). Any tuition paid in person/at the studio via credit card, cash or check will result in a $5 per transaction processing fee added to your Parent Portal account.
Tuition is as follows:
$8 per session for Creative Movement Stay & Play
$15 per session for Dance Technique Intensive
$40 per month for Pre Ballet, Ballet/Lyrical, Jazz Tap and Teen/Adult Tap
$48 per month for Dance Combo I/II/III and Jazzy Combo I/II
$25 per 30 minute private lesson
If you are registering for an event other than weekly classes (i.e. Creative Movement Stay & Play, Dance Technique Intensive, private lessons, summer camps, parties) your payment will be automatically deducted upon registration. If you are registering for an event other than weekly classes you should select “NA — one time event” as your payment method.
New students are welcome to trial class for $15. After a trial class, if a student wishes to continue, the remaining first month tuition and registration fee must be paid prior to the second class. The $15 drop in fee will be applied to the first month's tuition when students enroll in class during the same month that they attended their trial class.
Families enrolling two siblings will receive a 5% tuition discount. Families enrolling three siblings will receive a 10% tuition discount. Families enrolling four or more siblings will receive a 15% discount.
Families paying via Biannual Payment (half paid upon registration and half by January 1st) will receive a 5% discount. Families paying via Entire Year upon registration will receive a 10% discount.
Discounts only apply to regular weekly classes. Discounts do not apply to the annual registration fee or one day events such as $5 dance day, the annual holiday party, summer camps, Creative Movement Stay & Play, Dance Technique Intensive, etc.
To ensure progression as a dancer, proper attendance and timeliness is necessary. Students who miss six or more lessons in a semester will forfeit their spot in class and their ability to participate in the recital with no refunds given. Students who arrive after class has started should enter quickly and quietly. To prevent injury, students will be asked to sit out and observe if they arrive more than fifteen minutes after class has begun. If your child will be absent please call the studio and leave a message.
If class must be cancelled due to inclement weather, families will be notified via email. No refunds or make-ups will be given for any missed or cancelled classes.
Prime Technique Dance Academy will be closed in observance of the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day and Fourth of July. Check our website for specific dates.
Students should not arrive more than ten minutes prior to class and should be picked up promptly at the conclusion. Students 10 years old and younger must be dropped off and picked up inside the building and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian while in the lobby. Prime Technique Dance Academy cannot provide supervision for dancers outside of their schedule class times. Students found to be unsupervised in the lobby outside of their class time will be invited into the classroom for their own safety and will be assessed a $15 drop-in fee for that class.
Girls must wear a solid black leotard and pink or white tights with hair secured away from the face in a ponytail or bun. Long sleeve leotards are recommended for winter. Boys must wear a fitted solid white top and black fitted athletic bottoms. Children in Creative Movement Stay & Play should wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows movement. Dancers not adhering to the dress code will not be permitted to participate.
No street shoes, jeans, pajamas, t shirts, jackets, sweaters, dresses, skirts, tutus or jewelry (other than earrings).
Pink leather ballet shoes (black for boys) must be worn in Pre Ballet, Ballet/Lyrical and Dance Combo I, II & III. Black tap shoes must be worn in Tap, Teen/Adult Tap, Dance Combo I, II & III and Jazzy Combo I & II. Black slip-on jazz shoes must be worn in Jazz and Jazzy Combo I & II. Strings on ballet shoes should be tied in a knot, cut with an inch left for growth and tucked into the shoes not tied in bows as these bows come undone easily. Prime Technique Dance Academy has a limited supply of new pink ballet shoes to be purchased at $15 a pair. See a teacher for more details.
At the beginning of class students will enter the studio together. All students must use the restroom prior to class. No street shoes in the studio. Students should only bring their change of dance shoes into the class (for students in combo/multiple classes). All other items such as jackets and street shoes should remain in the lobby. Please label your dancers shoes with their name. No food, drinks, gum or toys may be brought into class. Prime Technique Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Unattended children will result in a drop in fee.
***Email and Parent Portal is Prime Technique Dance Academy's primary form of communication. Every family is required to have a Parent Portal account. Check your email and Parent Portal regularly.***
Prime Technique Dance Academy rents our building space. Please be respectful of it -- remind students to walk, maintain a quiet noise level, leave displayed literature such as brochures and business cards alone, clean up messes, etc.
A students’ age as of September 1st is the primary guideline for class placement. Students may only sign up at or below their age level. No exceptions. Because classes are progressive and build upon one another, new students should register for the lowest class available to their age. Registering for a higher class may result in missing important curriculum. Prime Technique Dance Academy staff will assess maturity, ability, prior classes taken at Prime Technique Dance Academy and attendance history to determine whether a higher level class would be better suited. It is typical for students to spend a minimum of one year in the same class, and class promotions occur in September. All students must be toilet trained and able to separate from their parent/guardian (other than CMSP).
Ages requirements for classes are as follows:
Creative Movement Stay & Play – all children walking to 5 years old and a parent/guardian
Pre Ballet -- 2 to 3 years – all 2 year olds; 3 year olds who are new to the studio
Dance Combo I -- 3 to 5 years old -- 3 year olds who took Pre Ballet; 4 and 5 year olds who are new to the studio

Dance Combo III -- 6 to 10 years old -- 6 year olds who took Dance Combo II; 7 and 10 year olds who are new to the studio
Jazzy Combo II – 6 to 10 years old – 6 year olds who took Jazzy Combo I; all 7 to 10 year olds
Ballet/Lyrical, Jazz and Tap -- 7 to 13 years old – 7 to 10 year olds who took Dance Combo III; all 11 to 13 year olds
Dance Technique Intensive -- 6 + years old – focused, mature dancers over 7 years old
Teen/Adult Tap -- 12 + years old – 12 and 13 year olds who took Tap and all teens/adults over 14 years old

There is a three student minimum. Classes that do not meet this requirement may be cancelled (one student) or shortened in length (two students) with the same tuition at the teacher's discretion.
Each year Prime Technique Dance Academy will conclude with an annual recital. The recital participation fee is $70 per student (add $40 for each additional class a student is enrolled in, they will receive another costume for each additional class). This fee includes one costume, all necessary costume accessories, one pair of tights, access to a practice video with music and one additional mandatory dress rehearsal. Tickets will be available for purchase.
The recital participation fee will be automatically deducted from all accounts on December 15th. If you do not wish to participate in the recital you must notify Miss Breanna via email no later than December 1st. Dancers who enroll after December 15th will have the recital participation fee automatically deducted at the time of registration unless Miss Breanna is informed via email prior to registration that the student does not wish to participate.
The registration deadline to participate in the recital is January 10th. Dancers who register after January 10th or have not paid the recital participation fee by January 10th will be unable to participate in the recital due to deadlines set by costume vendors.
All accounts must have a $0 balance seven days prior to the recital with tuition paid in full from September to June (or the month of registration for students began classes later in the year). Students who do not have a $0 balance will forfeit their right to participate in the recital with no refunds given for tuition, recital participation fee or tickets. It is your responsibility to check the status of your account and settle any balance by seven days prior to the recital.
