To ensure the safety of all students and promote a focused learning environment, family members are not permitted in the classroom. At this time, due to coronavirus, classes will not be streamed on our closed circuit television. Prime Technique Dance Academy will hold one virtual Observation Day per semester.
A student's enrollment is for the entire school year (September to May) and, for your convenience, tuition is divided into nine (9) equal payments. Tuition is expected every month whether or not a student attends to hold their place in class. All fees including registration fees, tuition, recital participation fees and recital ticket fees are non refundable and non transferrable.
Tuition will be processed online by card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex) via automatic withdrawal through our Parent Portal. The first tuition payment and annual registration fee ($15 per student/$45 max per family) will be automatically deducted at the time of registration. All following tuition will be automatically deducted on the 1st of each month from October to May. Please ensure your payment information on file is correct prior to the 1st of each month. If your payment does not go through you will be notified via email, and it is your responsibility to submit your tuition payment by the 5th of the month. Tuition paid after the 5th of each month will be assessed a $10 late fee. If tuition and late fees are not paid by the 15th of the month the student will forfeit their place in class. A student who has been dis-enrolled from class may re-register only if space is still available by paying the late tuition, $10 late fee and a $10 re-enrollment fee. If a new month has begun, the late tuition will not count for that month and the tuition for the new month will also be expected. If a student has already been dis-enrolled once, they will not be permitted to re-enroll a second time.
If you do not wish to participate in monthly automatic withdrawal, you may opt out by choosing “Tri-Pay Plan (Self-Pay)": 1/3 of tuition will be automatically deducted upon registration, and you will submit 1/3 of tuition on November 1st and January 1st via Parent Portal; or "Entire Year Plan (Self-Pay)": full tuition will be automatically deducted upon registration .
Tuition is as follows:
$35.50 per month for 30 minute classes
$45 per month for 45 minute classes
$66 per month for 75 minute classes
New students are welcome to trial class for $15. After a trial class, if a student wishes to continue, the remaining first month tuition and registration fee must be paid prior to the second class. The $15 drop in fee will be applied to the first month's tuition when students enroll in class during the same month of their trial class.
A $5 discount per month for each class after the first one will be given to students/siblings enrolling in two or more classes (limit four classes). Families paying via Tri-Pay Plan will receive a 5% discount. Families paying via Entire Year will receive a 10% discount. Discounts only apply to monthly tuition for regular weekly classes.
To ensure progression as a dancer, proper attendance and timeliness is necessary. Students who miss five or more lessons in a semester will forfeit their spot in class and their ability to participate in the recital with no refunds given. Students who arrive after class has started should enter quickly and quietly. To prevent injury, students will be asked to observe if they arrive more than ten minutes after class has begun. If your child will be absent please call the studio and leave a message.
If class must be cancelled, families will be notified via email. If in-person classes must be cancelled due to coronavirus, dancers will be provided a Zoom link to attend class virtually (pre-recorded classes for Pre Ballet). No refunds or makeups will be given for weather related closings.
Prime Technique Dance Academy will be closed in observance of the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day and Fourth of July. Check our website for specific dates.
Girls must wear a solid black leotard and pink ballet tights with hair secured away from the face in a ponytail or bun. Long sleeve leotards are recommended for winter. Boys must wear a fitted solid white top and black fitted athletic bottoms. Dancers not adhering to the dress code will not be permitted to participate.
No street shoes, jeans, pajamas, t shirts, jackets, sweaters, dresses, skirts, tutus or jewelry (other than earrings).
Pink leather ballet shoes (black for boys) must be worn in ballet classes. Black tap shoes must be worn in tap classes. Black slip-on jazz shoes must be worn in jazz classes. Prime Technique Dance Academy has a limited supply of new pink ballet shoes to be purchased at $15 a pair. See a teacher for more details.
All students must use the restroom prior to class. Students should bring only their change of dance shoes into the classroom (for students in combo/multiple classes). All other items such as jackets, street shoes, food, drink, gum or toys should be left in the lobby or with a parent. Prime Technique Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Dancers are expected to be respectful of our space: walking feet, maintain a quiet noise level, clean up after ones self, etc.
Students should not arrive more than five minutes prior to class and should be picked up promptly at the conclusion. Students 10 years old and younger must be accompanied by one parent while in the lobby. Prime Technique Dance Academy cannot provide supervision for dancers outside of their scheduled class times. Students left unsupervised will be invited into the classroom for their own safety and assessed a $15 drop-in fee which must be paid before returning to class.
Email and Parent Portal is Prime Technique Dance Academy's primary form of communication. Every family is required to have a Parent Portal account. Check your email and Parent Portal regularly.
Age as of September 1st is the primary guideline for class placement. Because our curriculum is progressive, students should enroll in the lowest class available for their age unless advised otherwise. Prime Technique Dance Academy staff will assess maturity, prior dance experience and attendance history to determine if a higher level class would be better suited. It is typical for students to spend one to two years in the same class. Students must be comfortable separating from parents, and all students in Pre Ballet/Tap and above must be toilet trained.
Pre Ballet -- 2 year olds who turned 2 on or before May 1st; all 3 to 4 year olds (potty training not necessary)
Pre Ballet/Tap -- all 3 to 5 year olds
Kinder Ballet/Tap -- all 5 and 7 year olds (4 year olds who took DC I)
Beginner Ballet/Tap/Jazz -- all 6 to 9 year olds (5 year olds who took DC II)
Intermediate Ballet/Lyrical, Tap, Jazz -- all 7 to 10 year olds (6 year olds who took DC III)
Advanced Ballet/Lyrical, Tap, Jazz — all 8 to 13 year olds (7 year olds who took level I Ballet/Lyrical, Tap or Jazz)
Elite Ballet/Lyrical, Tap, Jazz -- all 10 + year olds (8 or 9 year olds who took level II Ballet/Lyrical, Tap or Jazz)
Private Lessons - 6 + years old - qualification for Private Lessons is based on maturity, email email@example.com to setup a lesson
There is a three student minimum. Classes with one student may be cancelled. Classes with two students may be shortened in length with the same tuition.
Private lessons are reserved for mature dancers 6 years of age and older who want to work one-on-one with Prime Technique Dance Academy staff to improve technique in their choice of dance genre (ballet, lyrical, tap or jazz).
Private lessons are great for dancers with short term goals (preparing for a dance team audition/school musical/talent show), long term goals related to flexibility, stamina, strength and technique or dancers looking to minimize contact with others due to social distancing.
Private lessons are offered as 30 minute sessions (one dance genre — for dancers 6 and older) or 45 minute sessions (two dance genres — for dancers 8 and older). Private lessons offer flexibility to dancers with busy schedules, but to encourage progression as a dancer we recommend setting a fixed day and time for lessons each week as prolonged time in between can hinder growth. Contact us via email for available days and time.
The more lessons to sign up for, the more you save:
$25 per one 30 minute private lesson
$45 per 1 total hour of private lessons
$80 per 2 total hours of private lessons
$105 per 3 total hours of private lessons
$120 per 4 total hours of private lessons
Add $25 per each additional hour of private lessons after 4 hours (i.e. $145 per 5 hours, $170 per 6 hours, etc.)
Discounts apply when paying in full for the total number of hours. If you purchase an initial “1 total hour package” for $45 and an additional “3 total hour package” later, you will pay $105 for the “3 total hour package” (total of $150, versus $120 when purchasing all four hours together). If you choose to "pay as you go," tuition must be paid 48 hours prior to your lesson or it will be cancelled. Discounts reset each June.
Dancers who register for private lessons by November 15th and commit to a minimum of 10 hours of private lessons ($270) for one genre or 15 hours of private lessons ($395) for two genres will have the choice to perform one solo per genre in our recital. Dancers may choose their genre of dance to perform, but Prime Technique Dance Academy staff members will make music and costume selections to ensure content is developmentally appropriate. A non refundable deposit of 50% will be due at the time of registration to guarantee your dancers spot in our recital, and the other 50% will be due prior to the ninth lesson. A non refundable performance fee of $70 for one solo or $115 for two solos will be deducted on December 1st.
Each year Prime Technique Dance Academy will conclude with an annual recital. A non refundable performance fee of $70 per student (plus $45 for each additional class) will be automatically deducted on December 1st. You must notify us via email by November 15th if you do not wish to participate. Fee includes one costume, all accessories, one pair of tights, access to a practice video with music and one additional mandatory dress rehearsal. Tickets will be available for purchase.
Recital participation for students who register after December 1st will be dependent on costume availability. Please email us to inquire. A $5 expedited shipping fee per costume will apply.
Costumes will not be purchased/passed out and tickets cannot be purchase by anyone with an overdue balance. All accounts must be paid in full seven days prior to the recital. Students who do not have a $0 balance will forfeit participation in the recital with no refunds. It is your responsibility to check the status of your account and settle any balance by seven days prior to the recital.

Health and Safety
Drop Off/Pick Up Procedure:
Drop off and pick up will take place in our lobby. Only one parent/guardian per student will be permitted in the lobby for drop off and pick up. Upon arrival dancers and parent/guardian will locate a social distancing sticker as their designated area to get ready. We ask that students bring minimal items (dance shoes and a full water bottle in a bag labeled with their name) and that dancers come fully dressed for class and use the restroom prior to arriving. Our water dispenser will not be available for use and the restroom will not be available to change clothes. At the beginning of class, contactless temperatures will be taken, hand sanitizer will be provided and students will be escorted into the classroom one at a time. Immediately after drop off, parents/guardians must exit the building. Our lobby is closed to family members other than drop off and pick up. Waiting in the lobby is not permitted.
Dancers with temperatures above 100.4 or signs of illness will not be permitted to take class. We ask for your cooperation in staying home if any members of your family display signs of illness until all family members have been symptom free without the use of medication for a minimum of 72 hours.
At the conclusion of class dancers will collect their belongings, use hand sanitizer and meet their parent/guardian in the lobby. We ask that you arrive promptly to pick up, but not more than 5 minutes prior to the end of class and exit quickly to allow the next class to arrive.
In Class Procedure:
All classes will continue to meet our 5 to 9 student maximum based on age. Social distancing will be practiced in the classroom. Curriculum will be modified to eliminate hand holding, barre and prop usage and hands-on corrections from instructors. PTDA staff members and students five years of age and older must wear masks. Dancers and staff will be reminded to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze, wash hands when necessary and avoid touching the mouth/nose/eyes.
In addition to our regular cleaning routine, all high contact surfaces will be sanitized in between every class. Frequent hand washing will be practiced by both staff and students and hand sanitizer will be readily available.
