School Age Classes
Students develop poise and grace through warm-ups, barre work and choreography in ballet; explore rhythm, beat and pattern through combinations and across the floor in tap; and improve stamina, flexibility and strength with leaps, turns and tricks in jazz.
Ballet/Lyrical
Students learn ballet terminology and technique through warm-ups, barre, across the floor, choreography and improvisation while utilizing dance as an expressive art form. Students develop confidence, coordination, balance, flexibility, stamina and muscle strength. Dancers in Elite or Senior Ballet/Lyrical will begin to focus on pre-pointe skills. Due to the high level of technique required for pointe, taking these classes does not guarantee when or even if a dancer will be recommended for pointe shoes.
Tap
Students will love this energetic class and explore rhythm, beat and pattern through percussive footwork that exercises the thighs, calves, ankles and arches/balls of the feet.
Jazz
Students learn leaps, turns and tricks while improving stamina, flexibility and strength. Warm-ups, across the floor and choreography will be combined with upbeat, age-appropriate music as students explore qualities of performance such as energy, spatial awareness and timing.
