Class Observation To ensure the safety of all students and promote a focused learning environment, family members are not permitted in class. Parents are welcome to wait in our adjacent lobby or drop off and pick up.
Tuition Fees are nonrefundable and are not transferable between classes/family members. Tuition is expected every month whether or not a student attends to hold their place in class. Prorations will not be given for missed classes. The inital payment at the time of registration covers classes through Sept. 18th — dancers enrolling before Sept. 18th MUST submit the initial tuition payment as well as the payment due on 8/21 even if they enroll after classes have begun.
Classes run from August through January and, for your convenience, tuition is divided into six (6) equal payments. The first tuition payment is automatically deducted at the time of registration via card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex). All following tuition payments will be automatically deducted prior to the start of the next month on the 21st (8/21, 9/21, 10/21, 11/21 and 12/21).
If a tuition payment does not go through, parents will be notified via email, and it is their responsibility to submit payment by the 25th. Tuition paid after the 25th will be assessed a $10 late fee. If tuition and late fees are not paid by the 1st of the month, the student will forfeit their place in class. Students may re-join class only if space is still available by paying the late tuition, $10 late fee and a $10 re-enrollment fee.
Families may opt out of monthly automatic withdrawal by selecting "Entire Year" and paying full tuition at the time of registration. You must double check your payment method BEFORE registering as tuition will be automatically deducted at the time of registration based on your selected payment method. Payment methods previously set to ‘tri-pay’ will automatically default to ‘monthly.’
Tuition is as follows:
30-minute classes — $36/month
45-minute classes — $47/month
60-minute classes — $58/month
30- or 45-minute TRIAL class — $16
60-minute TRIAL class — $18
Discounts A $5 monthly discount for each class after the first will be given to students taking multiple classes. Families paying via Entire Year will receive a 10% discount. Discounts only apply to monthly tuition for weekly fall/spring classes.
Attendance/Cancellation To ensure progression as a dancer, proper attendance and timeliness is necessary. Students who miss four or more lessons per semester will forfeit their spot in class and their ability to participate in the recital with no refunds. Students who arrive after class has begun should enter quickly and quietly. If your child will be absent, please email us.
If class is cancelled, notification will be sent via email. Since tuition is paid to hold a dancers' spot in their specific class, refunds/make ups will not be issued for weather related closings or if a dancer chooses not to attend.
Prime Technique Dance Academy will be closed for the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day and Fourth of July. Check our website for specific dates.
Dress Code Girls must wear a solid black leotard with pink ballet tights. Black dance shorts and/or black ballet skirts are optional in Advanced, Junior Elite, Elite and Senior classes. All other items (jackets, street shoes, food, drink, gum or toys) should be left in the lobby or with a parent. Prime Technique Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Dancers left unattended before or after their scheduled class time will be assessed a $15 supervision fee per student for each half hour or fraction of that they are left unsupervised. For your dancer's safety, Prime Technique Dance Academy utilizes a coded lock on our front door. Families are asked not to share this code with anyone other than their dancers' primary pick up person and ensure the door closes fully behind them.
Email and Parent Portal is Prime Technique Dance Academy's primary form of communication. Every family is required to have a Parent Portal account and check both that and email regularly.
Class Placement Because our curriculum is progressive, new students should refer to the class placement recommendations below when enrolling in classes.
Prime Technique Dance Academy utilizes age as of September 1st, skill level, maturity, prior dance experience and attendance history to determine if a higher-level is better suited. Recital Participation A nonrefundable performance fee of $75 per student ($50 for each additional class) is automatically deducted on September 21st. Fee includes one costume, accessories, one pair of tights and an additional mandatory dress rehearsal. You must notify us by September 15th if you do not wish to participate. Recital participation for students who register after September 21st is dependent on costume availability, and a $10 shipping fee per dancer will apply. Email us to inquire about availability.
Recital tickets will be available for purchase ($13.50 each + convenience fee). The amount of tickets initially available varies from ~5 to 6 per family (family is defined as siblings on the same Parent Portal account — only one code to purchase 5 to 6 tickets will be provided per Parent Portal account). If there are any extra tickets, families will be able to purchase more on a first come, first serve basis. Every individual occupying a seat (other than children 3 years and younger who are “lap-sitting”) must have a ticket and must remain in their assigned seat for the duration of the show. Ticket fees are nonrefundable and non transferrable among performances, classes or events.
The date/time of mandatory dress rehearsal and recital will be announced a few months in advance. The focus of dress rehearsal is to practice on stage without the pressure of an audience, walk through formations and make last minute adjustments to routines. Because of this, dress rehearsal is a closed practice: no parental viewing. Dancers who are unable to attend the actual recital may have two guests view the last five minutes of class following the recital to see routines. Dancers are required to be present for the entirety of both dress rehearsal and recital and will only be dismissed after the finale is over. Each class is required to have one highly motivated and engaged Room Mom volunteer to help with supervision backstage. Families will be notified which classes need volunteers. Costumes and tickets will not be given to anyone who has an overdue balance seven days prior to recital day, and a balance seven days prior to recital will result in forfeiture of recital participation. It is your responsibility to check the status of your account and settle any balance.
