Class Observation
To ensure the safety of all students and promote a focused learning environment, family members are not permitted in class. At this time, due to coronavirus, classes will not be streamed on our closed-circuit television. One virtual Observation Day will be held each semester.

Tuition
A student's enrollment is for the entire school year (September to May - specific dates subject to change) and, for your convenience, divided into nine (9) equal payments. Tuition is expected every month whether or not a student attends to hold their place in class.

All fees (registration fees, tuition, recital participation fees and recital ticket fees) are nonrefundable and non transferrable between family members or classes. The first tuition payment is automatically deducted at the time of registration via card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex) based. All following tuition payments will be automatically deducted on the 1st of each month from October to May.

Payment information on file must be correct prior to the 1st of each month. If payment does not go through, parents will be notified via email, and it is their responsibility to submit tuition payment by the 5th of the month. Tuition paid after the 5th of each month will be assessed a $10 late fee. If tuition and late fees are not paid by the 15th of the month, the student will forfeit their place in class. Students may re-register only if space is still available by paying the late tuition, $10 late fee and a $10 re-enrollment fee. If a new month has begun, the late tuition will not count for that month and the tuition for the new month will also be expected. Re-enrollment will only be allowed once.

Families may opt out of monthly automatic withdrawal by choosing "Tri-Pay": 1/3 of tuition will be automatically deducted upon registration, on November 1st and January 1st; or "Entire Year": full tuition will be automatically deducted upon registration.

Tuition is $36 per month for 30-minute classes and $46 per month for 45-minute classes. Trial classes are $15 which will be applied toward the first tuition payment when the student registers for class during the same month that they sampled class.

Discounts
A $5 monthly discount for each class after the first will be given to students/siblings (limit four classes). Families paying via Tri-Pay will receive a 5% discount. Families paying via Entire Year will receive a 10% discount. Discounts only apply to monthly tuition for weekly fall/spring classes.

Attendance
To ensure progression as a dancer, proper attendance and timeliness is necessary. Students who miss four or more lessons per semester will forfeit their spot in class and their ability to participate in the recital with no refunds. Students who arrive after class has begun should enter quickly and quietly and may be asked to observe if they arrive more than ten minutes late. If your child will be absent, please call and leave a message.

If class is cancelled, notification will be sent via email. Since tuition is paid to hold a dancers' spot in their specific class, refunds/make ups will not be issued for weather related closings or if a dancer chooses not to attend.

Prime Technique Dance Academy will be closed for the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day and Fourth of July. Check our website for specific dates.

Dress Code
Girls must wear a solid black leotard with pink ballet tights. Black dance shorts and/or ballet skirts are optional in Advanced, Junior Elite, Elite and Senior classes only -- younger dancers tend to get distracted by tutus/skirts (both attached and detached). Long sleeve leotards are recommended for winter. Boys must wear a fitted solid white top and black fitted athletic bottoms. Long hair must be secured in a ponytail or bun. No jewelry. Dancers not adhering to the dress code will not be permitted to participate.

Pink leather ballet shoes (black for boys) for ballet. Black tap shoes for tap. Black slip-on jazz shoes for jazz. Capezio and Bloch brands are highly recommended. A limited supply of new pink ballet shoes for $15 is available.

Classroom/Studio Conduct
All students must use the restroom prior to class. Students should only bring their change of dance shoes into the classroom. All other items (jackets, street shoes, food, drink, gum or toys) should be left in the lobby or with a parent. Prime Technique Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please respect our space: walk, maintain a quiet noise level, clean up after yourself, etc. Remember, we are a nut free facility.

All students, staff and family members must conduct themselves in a respectful manner: yelling, belittling, harassing, bullying, physical violence, etc. is not tolerated and is grounds for immediate termination with zero refunds given. No exceptions. Please respect our space: walk, maintain a quiet noise level, clean up after yourself, etc. remember, we are a nut free facility.

Currently, our lobby is closed. When the lobby reopens, dancers should arrive no more than five minutes prior to class and be picked up promptly at the conclusion of class. All students must be accompanied by a parent while in the lobby. Dancers left unattended before or after their scheduled class time will be assessed a $15 supervision fee per half hour or fraction thereof that they are left unsupervised.

Email and Parent Portal is Prime Technique Dance Academy's primary form of communication. Every family is required to have a Parent Portal account and check both that and email regularly.

Class Placement
Because our curriculum is progressive, new students should enroll in the two lowest classes available for their age unless advised otherwise.

Prime Technique Dance Academy staff utilizes not only age as of September 1st, but also skill level, maturity, prior dance experience and attendance history to determine if a higher level class is better suited. It is typical for students to spend a minimum of two years in the same class. All students must be toilet trained, comfortable separating from parents and able to follow two step directions.

New Student Class Placement:
  • Pre Ballet -- 2 year olds who turned 2 on or before January 1st; all 3 to 4 year olds
  • Pre Ballet/Tap -- all 3 to 5 year olds
  • Kinder Classes -- All 5 to 7 year olds
  • Beginner Classes -- all 6 to 8 year olds
  • Intermediate Classes -- all 8 to 10 year olds
  • Advanced Classes -- all 9 to 11 year olds
  • Junior Elite Classes -- all 11 to 13 year olds
  • Elite Classes -- all 12 + years
  • Senior Classes -- all 14 + years
  • Private Lessons - 6 + years old - qualification for Private Lessons is based on maturity
Classes have a three-student minimum and will be cancelled if only one student enrolls or shortened in length by 20% with the same tuition if two students enroll.

Recital Participation
A nonrefundable performance fee of $75 per student ($50 for each additional class) is automatically deducted on November 1st. Fee includes one costume, all accessories, one pair of tights and one additional mandatory closed dress rehearsal. You must notify us via email by October 21st if you do not wish to participate. Recital participation for students who register after November 1st will be dependent on costume availability, and a $10 expedited shipping fee per dancer will apply. Please email us to inquire.

Recital tickets will be available for purchase (amount available per family TBD) at $12.50 each. Every individual attending the recital must have a ticket (excluding children 3 years and younger when sitting on a lap). Ticket fees are nonrefundable and non transferrable among performances or for future classes, events, etc.

Costumes and tickets will not be purchased by/passed out to anyone with an overdue balance. All accounts must be paid in full seven days prior to the recital. Students who do not have a $0 balance will forfeit participation in the recital with no refunds. It is your responsibility to check the status of your account and settle any balance by seven days prior to the recital.

Private Lessons
Private lessons in ballet, lyrical, tap or jazz offered in 30-minute (one genre for 6 + years) or 45-minute (two genres for 8 + years) sessions are available on a limited basis. Dancers who register by November 1st and commit to a minimum of 18 lessons ($285 for one genre or $360 for two genres) will have the choice to perform one solo per genre in our recital. Dancers may choose their genre of dance, but Prime Technique Dance Academy staff members will make music and costume selections to ensure content is developmentally appropriate.
