To ensure the safety of all students and promote a focused learning environment, family members are not permitted in class. At this time, due to coronavirus, classes will not be streamed on our closed circuit television. One virtual Observation Day will be held each semester.
A student's enrollment is for the entire school year (September to May — specific dates subject to change) and, for your convenience, divided into nine (9) equal payments. Tuition is expected every month whether or not a student attends to hold their place in class. All fees (registration fees, tuition, recital participation fees and recital ticket fees) are non refundable and non transferrable between family members or other classes.
Tuition is processed by card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex) via automatic withdrawal. The first tuition payment and annual registration fee ($15 per student/$45 max per family) will be automatically deducted at the time of registration. All following tuition will be automatically deducted on the 1st of each month from October to May. Please ensure your payment information on file is correct prior to the 1st of each month. If your payment does not go through, you will be notified via email, and it is your responsibility to submit your tuition payment by the 5th of the month. Tuition paid after the 5th of each month will be assessed a $10 late fee. If tuition and late fees are not paid by the 15th of the month the student will forfeit their place in class. A student who has been dis-enrolled from class may re-register only if space is still available by paying the late tuition, $10 late fee and a $10 re-enrollment fee. If a new month has begun, the late tuition will not count for that month and the tuition for the new month will also be expected. Re-enrollment will only be allowed once.
If you do not wish to participate in monthly automatic withdrawal, you may opt out by choosing “Tri-Pay": 1/3 of tuition will be automatically deducted upon registration, on November 1st and January 1st; or "Entire Year": full tuition will be automatically deducted upon registration .
Tuition is as follows:
$35.50 per month for 30 minute classes
$45 per month for 45 minute classes
$66 per month for 75 minute classes
Trial classes for new students are $15. After a trial class, if a student wishes to continue, the remaining first month tuition and registration fee must be paid prior to the second class. When students enroll in class during the same month as their trial the $15 will be applied towards tuition.
A $5 monthly discount for each class after the first will be given to students/siblings (limit four classes). Families paying via Tri-Pay will receive a 5% discount. Families paying via Entire Year will receive a 10% discount. Discounts only apply to monthly tuition for weekly fall/spring classes.
To ensure progression as a dancer, proper attendance and timeliness is necessary. Students who miss five or more lessons per semester will forfeit their spot in class and their ability to participate in the recital with no refunds. Students who arrive after class has started should enter quickly and quietly. To prevent injury, students will be asked to observe if they arrive more than ten minutes after class has begun. If your child will be absent, please call and leave a message.
If class is cancelled, families will be notified via email. If classes are cancelled due to coronavirus, dancers will be provided a Zoom link to attend virtually (pre-recorded for Pre Ballet). No refunds or makeups will be given for weather related closings or if dancers choose not to attend.
Prime Technique Dance Academy will be closed for the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day and Fourth of July. Check our website for specific dates.
Girls must wear a solid black leotard (no attached skirts or tutus) and pink ballet tights. Black dance shorts maybe worn in Intermediate/Advanced/Elite classes. Long sleeve leotards are recommended for winter. Boys must wear a fitted solid white top and black fitted athletic bottoms. Long hair must be secured in a ponytail or bun. No jewelry (except small earrings) may be worn. Dancers not adhering to the dress code will not be permitted to participate.
Pink leather ballet shoes (black for boys) must be worn in ballet. Black tap shoes must be worn in tap. Black slip-on jazz shoes must be worn in jazz. Capezio and Bloch brands are highly recommended. Prime Technique Dance Academy has a limited supply of new pink ballet shoes for $15 a pair.
All students must use the restroom prior to class. Students should bring only their change of dance shoes into the classroom (for students in combo/multiple classes). All other items such as jackets, street shoes, food, drink, gum or toys should be left in the lobby or with a parent. Prime Technique Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Dancers are expected to be respectful of our space: walking feet, maintain a quiet noise level, clean up after ones self, etc.
Once the lobby is opened, students should not arrive more than five minutes prior to class and should be picked up promptly at the conclusion. All students must be accompanied by a parent while in the lobby. Prime Technique Dance Academy cannot provide supervision for dancers outside of their scheduled class times. Students left unsupervised will be invited into the classroom for their own safety and assessed a $15 drop-in fee which must be paid before returning to class.
Email and Parent Portal is Prime Technique Dance Academy's primary form of communication. Every family is required to have a Parent Portal account and check both that and email regularly.
Age as of September 1st is the primary guideline for class placement. Because our curriculum is progressive, students should enroll in the lowest class available for their age unless advised otherwise. Prime Technique Dance Academy staff will assess maturity, prior dance experience and attendance history to determine if a higher level class would be better suited. It is typical for students to spend one to two years in the same class. Students must be comfortable separating from parents, and all students in Pre Ballet/Tap and above must be toilet trained.
Pre Ballet -- 2 year olds who turned 2 on or before May 1st; all 3 to 4 year olds (potty training not necessary)
Pre Ballet/Tap -- all 3 to 5 year olds
Kinder Ballet/Tap -- all 5 and 7 year olds (4 year olds who took DC I)
Beginner Ballet/Tap/Jazz -- all 6 to 9 year olds (5 year olds who took DC II)

Private Lessons - 6 + years old - qualification for Private Lessons is based on maturity
There is a three student minimum. Classes with one student will be cancelled. Classes with two students will be shortened in length by 20% with the same tuition.
Each year Prime Technique Dance Academy will conclude with an annual recital. A non refundable performance fee of $70 per student (plus $45 for each additional class) will be automatically deducted on December 1st. You must notify us via email by November 15th if you do not wish to participate. Fee includes one costume, all accessories, one pair of tights, access to a practice video with music and one additional mandatory dress rehearsal. Tickets will be available for purchase.
Recital participation for students who register after December 1st will be dependent on costume availability. Please email us to inquire. A $10 expedited shipping fee per costume will apply.
Costumes will not be purchased/passed out and tickets cannot be purchase by anyone with an overdue balance. All accounts must be paid in full seven days prior to the recital. Students who do not have a $0 balance will forfeit participation in the recital with no refunds. It is your responsibility to check the status of your account and settle any balance by seven days prior to the recital.
Private lessons are reserved for mature dancers 6 years of age and older who want to work one-on-one with Prime Technique Dance Academy staff to improve technique in ballet, lyrical, tap or jazz. Private lessons are great for dancers with short term goals (preparing for a dance team audition/school musical/talent show), long term goals related to flexibility, stamina, strength and technique or dancers looking to minimize contact with others due to social distancing.
Private lessons are offered as 30 minute sessions (one dance genre — for dancers 6 and older) or 45 minute sessions (two dance genres — for dancers 8 and older). Private lessons offer flexibility to dancers with busy schedules, but a fixed weekly schedule is required as prolonged time in between can hinder growth. Contact us via email for available days and time.
The more lessons to sign up for, the more you save:
$25 per 30 minutes
$45 per 1 total hour
$80 per 2 total hours
$105 per 3 total hours
$120 per 4 total hours
Add $30 per each additional hour after 4 hours (i.e. $150 for 5 hours, $180 per 6 hours, etc.)
Discounts only apply when paying in full for the total number of hours. Tuition must be paid 48 hours prior to your lesson to avoid cancellation.
Dancers who register for private lessons by November 1st and commit to a minimum of 10 hours ($300) for one genre or 15 hours ($450) for two genres will have the choice to perform one solo per genre in our recital. Dancers may choose their genre of dance to perform, but Prime Technique Dance Academy staff members will make music and costume selections to ensure content is developmentally appropriate. A non refundable deposit of 50% will be due at the time of registration to guarantee your dancers spot in our recital, and the other 50% will be due prior to the ninth lesson. A non refundable performance fee of $70 for one solo or $115 for two solos will be deducted on December 1st.

Health and Safety
At this time, drop off and pick up will take place at the front door. Parents/guardians will not be permitted in the building. If your dancer is new, you are welcome to setup a “meet and greet” to tour our facilities and meet our staff with your dancer.
Dancers should arrive dressed for class with minimal items (dance shoes and a water bottle in a bag labeled with their name). The restroom will not be available to change clothing, and the water dispenser will remain closed until further noticed.
Prior to class, temperatures will be taken and hand sanitizer will be provided. Dancers with temperatures above 100.4 or signs of illness will not be permitted. We ask for your cooperation in staying home if any family members display signs of illness until everyone has been symptom free without the use of medication for 72 hours.
If/when we are able to allow family members into the building, only one parent/guardian will be permitted for drop off and pick up, and everyone will be required to maintain six feet of social distance at all times. Immediately after drop off, parents/guardians will be required to exit the building. Waiting in the lobby will not be permitted. At the conclusion of class, dancers will collect their belongings, use hand sanitizer and meet their parent/guardian in the lobby. We ask that you arrive promptly to pick up, but not more than 5 minutes prior to the end of class, and exit quickly to allow the next class to arrive.
All classes will continue to meet our 5 to 9 student maximum based on age. Social distancing will be practiced in the classroom. Curriculum will be modified to minimize hand holding, barre and prop usage and hands-on corrections from instructors, and when barres and props are used they will be sanitized after each use. PTDA staff members and students five years of age and older must wear masks. Dancers and staff will be reminded to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze, wash hands when necessary and avoid touching their face.
In addition to our regular cleaning routine, all high contact surfaces will be sanitized in between every class. Frequent hand washing will be practiced by both staff and students and hand sanitizer will be readily available.
