Class Observation To ensure the safety of all students and promote a focused learning environment, family members are not permitted in class. Parents are welcome to wait in our adjacent lobby or drop off and pick up.
Tuition Enrollment is for the entire school year (September to May - specific dates subject to change) and, for your convenience, divided into nine (9) equal payments. Tuition is expected every month whether or not a student attends to hold their place in class.
All fees are nonrefundable and non transferrable between family members or classes. The first tuition payment is automatically deducted at the time of registration via card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex). All following tuition payments will be automatically deducted prior to the start of the next month on the 21st (8/21, 9/21, 10/21, 11/21 and 12/21).
If a tuition payment does not go through, parents will be notified via email, and it is their responsibility to submit payment by the 25th. Tuition paid after the 25th will be assessed a $10 late fee. If tuition and late fees are not paid by the 1st of the month, the student will forfeit their place in class. Students may re-join class only if space is still available by paying the late tuition, $10 late fee and a $10 re-enrollment fee.
Families may opt out of monthly automatic withdrawal by selecting "Entire Year" and paying full tuition at the time of registration.
Tuition is $36 per month for 30-minute classes, $47 per month for 45-minute classes and $58 per month for 60-minute classes. Trial classes are $16 for 30- and 45-minute classes and $18 for 60-minute classes which applies toward the first tuition payment when the student registers during the same month that they sampled class.
Discounts A $5 monthly discount for each class after the first will be given to students taking multiple classes. Families paying via Entire Year will receive a 10% discount. Discounts only apply to monthly tuition for weekly fall/spring classes.
Attendance/Cancellation To ensure progression as a dancer, proper attendance and timeliness is necessary. Students who miss four or more lessons per semester will forfeit their spot in class and their ability to participate in the recital with no refunds. Students who arrive after class has begun should enter quickly and quietly. If your child will be absent, please email us.
If class is cancelled, notification will be sent via email. Since tuition is paid to hold a dancers' spot in their specific class, refunds/make ups will not be issued for weather related closings or if a dancer chooses not to attend.
Prime Technique Dance Academy will be closed for the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day and Fourth of July. Check our website for specific dates.
Dress Code Girls must wear a solid black leotard with pink ballet tights. Black dance shorts are optional and black ballet skirts are optional in Advanced, Junior Elite, Elite and Senior classes. Skirts/tutus are not permitted in Pre, Kinder, Beginner and Intermediate classes as they tend to pose distractions to young dancers. Long sleeve leotards are recommended for winter. Boys must wear a fitted solid white top and black fitted athletic bottoms. Long hair must be secured in a ponytail or bun. No jewelry. Dancers not adhering to the dress code will be asked to observe.
Pink leather ballet shoes (black for boys) for ballet. Black tap shoes for tap. Black slip-on jazz shoes for jazz. Capezio and Bloch brands are highly recommended. No Target/“Freestyle” brand. A limited supply of new pink ballet shoes for $15 is available.
Classroom/Studio Conduct All students must use the restroom prior to class. Students should only bring their change of dance shoes into the classroom. All other items (jackets, street shoes, food, drink, gum or toys) should be left in the lobby or with a parent. Prime Technique Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
All students, staff and family members must conduct themselves respectfully: yelling, belittling, harassing, bullying, physical violence, etc. is grounds for immediate termination with zero refunds. Please respect our space: walk, maintain a quiet noise level, clean up after yourself, etc. We are a nut free facility.
Dancers should arrive no more than five minutes prior to class and be picked up promptly at the conclusion of class. Students must be accompanied by a parent while in the lobby. Dancers left unattended before or after their scheduled class time will be assessed a $15 supervision fee per student for each half hour or fraction of that they are left unsupervised. For your dancer's safety, Prime Technique Dance Academy utilizes a coded lock on our front door. Families are asked not to share this code with anyone other than their dancers' primary pick up person and ensure the door closes fully behind you.
Email and Parent Portal is Prime Technique Dance Academy's primary form of communication. Every family is required to have a Parent Portal account and check both that and email regularly.
Class Placement Because our curriculum is progressive, new students should refer to the class placement recommendations below when enrolling in classes.
Prime Technique Dance Academy utilizes age as of September 1st, skill level, maturity, prior dance experience and attendance history to determine if a higher-level is better suited. Dancers typically spend a minimum of two years in each level. All students must be toilet trained, comfortable separating from parents and able to follow two-step directions.

3 years & 3 months to 4 years — Pre Ballet or Kinder classes (must be 3 on or before March 1st 2022)

Classes have a three-student minimum and will be cancelled if only one student enrolls or shortened in length by 20% with the same tuition if two students enroll.
Recital Participation A nonrefundable performance fee of $75 per student ($50 for each additional class) is automatically deducted on September 21st. Fee includes one costume, accessories, one pair of tights and an additional mandatory dress rehearsal. You must notify us by September 15th if you do not wish to participate. Recital participation for students who register after September 21st is dependent on costume availability, and a $10 shipping fee per dancer will apply. Email us to inquire about availability.
Recital tickets will be available for purchase ($13.50 each + convenience fee). The amount of tickets initially available will vary from ~4 to 6 per family (family is defined as siblings on the same Parent Portal account — only one code to purchase 4 to 6 tickets will be provided per Parent Portal account). If there are any extra tickets, families will be able to purchase more on a first come, first serve basis. Every individual occupying a seat (other than children 3 years and younger who are “lap-sitting”) must have a ticket. Ticket fees are nonrefundable and non transferrable among performances, classes or events.
The date/time of mandatory dress rehearsal and recital will be announced a few months in advance. The focus of dress rehearsal is to practice on stage without the pressure of an audience, walk through formations and make last minute adjustments to routines. Because of this, dress rehearsal is a closed practice: no parental viewing. Dancers who are unable to attend the actual recital may have two guests view the last five minutes of the class following recital to see their recital routines. Dancers are required to be present for the entirety of both dress rehearsal and recital and will only be dismissed after the finale is over. Each class is required to have one Room Mom volunteer to help with supervision backstage. Families will be notified which classes need volunteers. Costumes and tickets will not be given to anyone who has an overdue balance seven days prior to recital day, and a balance seven days prior to recital will result in forfeiture of recital participation. It is your responsibility to check the status of your account and settle any balance.
