Class Placement
New students: select class based on age as September 1st, 2025. Ex: children enrolling in Pre Ballet must be 2 years & 9 months by September first (turned 2 years of age on or before December 1st, 2024). If your dancer is new to dance, please select the lowest class available. Returning students: refer to class placement recommendations. All dancers must be comfortable separating from their parent/guardian, able to follow 2-step directions and toilet trained to take classes. Early Childhood
Young students practice dance technique through creative movement activities and improvisation to develop confidence, social skills and studio etiquette. As students get older, they develop poise and grace through warm-ups, barre work and choreography in ballet and explore rhythm, beat and pattern through combinations and across the floor in tap. School Age Combo Classes
Students develop poise and grace through warm-ups, barre work and choreography in ballet; explore rhythm, beat and pattern through combinations and across the floor in tap and flexibility, strength and stamina in Jazz. Ballet/Lyrical
Students learn ballet terminology and technique through warm-ups, barre, across the floor, choreography and improvisation while utilizing dance as an expressive art form to develop confidence, coordination, balance and poise. Pre Pointe This class is by INVITATION ONLY. Concurrent enrollment in Advanced, Elite or Senior Ballet/Lyrical is required. Because proper body alignment is important when working towards pointe shoes to prevent injury, dress code will be strictly enforced: black leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes and long hair pulled back for girls (optional demi ballet skirt or black dance shots). Dancers wear regular ballet shoes to class. Pointe shoes are granted on an individual basis. Due to the risk of injury associated with beginning pointe shoes too early, enrollment does not guarantee if/when a dancer will get pointe shoes -- some are ready in 12 to 18 months, others in 2 to 3 + years. When a dancer is ready, Miss Breanna will setup a time to be fitted at a local dancewear store. Tap
Students explore rhythm, beat and pattern through quick-paced percussive footwork that exercises the thighs, calves, ankles and arches/balls of the feet and uses the body as an instrument. Jazz
Students learn leaps, turns and tricks while improving stamina, flexibility and strength in styles such as classical jazz, poms and hip hop. Warm-ups, across the floor and choreography will be combined with age-appropriate music as students explore qualities of performance such as energy, spatial awareness and timing. Performance Team Performance Team is an audition based, non-competitive team geared towards serious dancers 8.75 + years who would like a more focused, fast-paced learning environment coupled with additional public performance opportunities. This team includes additional weekend practices, performances and policies. |
